Celebrate Your Ultimate Freedom

Happy 4th of July

Happy 4th of July

Today in America, we celebrate Independence Day, which marks the birth of our freedom as a nation. People often look forward to celebrating with friends and family. The question today is, how often do you celebrate your ultimate freedom—your spiritual freedom?

Scripture tells us that it is for freedom that Christ has set us free. In other words, God wants you to be free today simply for freedom’s sake. He wants you free because He wants you to enjoy your life and experience liberty no matter what’s happening around you. He loves you and wants the very best for you.

The seeds of freedom are deposited in us when we receive Jesus as our Lord and Savior. He first sets us free from sin and death and breaks its power over us. We don’t have to live defeated, depressed, anxious, sick, upset, bitter or stuck in the past any longer. We are free because of Jesus Christ!

When you read and meditate on God’s Word, you are watering those seeds of freedom. When you surrender your will to His, when you obey Him, you are watering that seed. When you declare what God says about you, those seeds of freedom are taking root and beginning to manifest fruit in your life.

What’s interesting about the celebration of Independence Day is that on July 4, 1776, the Declaration of Independence was signed. It was the day the people declared their freedom. But the battle went on for years before they were actually living in that freedom! They declared it first, and then they stood their ground until they had the victory.

Maybe today you have some things that you want to get free from—addictions, strongholds, lack, fear. Let this be the day you declare your freedom! You may have to stand and press through for a little while until you are living in that freedom, but know that when you declare God’s Word, you set it into motion on your behalf. Scripture says that He watches over His Word to bring it to pass just like a farmer tends to his precious seeds.

Today, water those seeds of freedom in your life. Stand in faith and declare His Word. Keep your eyes looking forward and celebrate your ultimate freedom!

“It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.” (Galatians 5:1, NIV)
